Getting to Liverpool
Liverpool John Lennon Airport (www.liverpoolairport.com) is a small regional airport just 11 km from the city centre and is connected directly to many European cities by Easyjet, Flybe, KLM, Ryanair and Wizz Air. Long-distance travellers may find it easiest to fly with a Skyteam Alliance airline via Amsterdam, from which KLM has several flights a day direct to Liverpool Airport. A taxi journey to the city centre takes about 20 minutes at a cost of about £15, and there is also an express bus service to the city centre every 30 minutes.
Manchester International Airport (www.manchesterairport.co.uk) is a large international airport with three terminals, about 80 km from Liverpool. Arriving passengers should follow the directions in the arrival terminal, to the combined train and coach station at the airport. From here there is a direct train service to Liverpool city centre via Manchester every hour from approx 0400 (1000 on Sundays) to 2200, with a journey time of about 60 minutes (www.nationalrail.co.uk). Alternatively there is a 24-hour express coach service to Liverpool city centre every hour, except for peak traffic hours, with a journey time of about 90minutes (www.airportbycoachmanchester.co.uk).
Delegates who wish to spend time in London may find it easiest to travel from London to Liverpool by train from London Euston (www.thetrainline.com). Direct trains take about 3hours.
All train services arrive at Liverpool Lime Street Station in the centre of the city, a few minutes taxi ride from the Liverpool Convention Centre and the Congress hotels.
