Venue

The PIANC MMX Congress will be held at Liverpool's Arena and Convention Centre from 10 - 14 May 2010.

This new landmark, which opened in 2008 is a great addition to Liverpool's famous waterfront skyline. It will transform Liverpool's position as a conference destination of choice. Bordered by the magnificent waterfront setting and a landscaped piazza for outdoor events and performances, the venue offers a main auditorium and meeting rooms to provide separate breakout areas . All rooms are equipped with the latest telecommunications and data network, cabling infrastructure, wireless LAN and digital audio visual facilities.

This exciting new business and leisure destination includes on-site hotel accommodation of approximately 300 rooms, together with retail and leisure facilities to cater for the needs of conference delegates. A direct pedestrian link along the riverfront provides access to the range of hotels at Albert Dock and Princes Dock just a few minutes away.

The Congress banquet will be held in the majestic Liverpool Cathedral that dominates the skyline. Designed by Sir Giles Gilbert Scott, construction started in 1904 and continued through two World Wars and was finally completed in 1978. As the largest Cathedral in Europe, it is certainly the jewel in the crown built by the people for the people.
